Nunsensations! The Nunsense Vegas Revue takes the sisters on a brand new adventure. When a parishioner volunteers to donate $10,000 to the sisters’ school if they will perform in a club in Las Vegas, Mother Superior is hesitant to accept. However, after being convinced by the other sisters that “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” Reverend Mother agrees. What follows is the most feather-filled, sequin-studded, fan dancing Nunsense show ever! Performing in “The Pump Room” at the Mystique Motor Lodge, the sisters experience “show-biz” like never before. You’ll meet Sin-City Sue, find out who’s Black and White with Her Money on Red, and try to win a new car with the “Holy Rollers Giant Slot Machine.” Taking a line from another show, a critic pointed out, “It’s a whole lot funny and a little bit naughty, but there ain’t nothin’ dirty goin’ on!”
There are five roles for female identifying individuals, ages 18+.
Sister Mary Regina, Mother Superior is outrageous, quick-witted, knows how to get a laugh, tries to convince you that she is strict, but everyone knows that her “bark is worse than her bite.
Mezzo or Alto, Jazz/Swing style
Sister Mary Hubert, Mistress of Novices is kind, always tries to be understanding and diplomatic, teaches the novices the ground rules, and is supposed to be dignified – but with the slightest bit of encouragement, she is ready to kick up her heels.
Mezzo or Alto, Gospel style
Sister Mary Robert Anne is a tough streetwise nun, who has a heart of gold, adored by kids because she speaks their language, a constant source of aggravation for Mother Superior.
Mezzo or Alto, Show belter/ballad style
Sister Mary Amnesia is the picture of innocence, lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head, can’t remember her past, and so she looks at each day with a childlike joy, has a puppet alter ego named Sister Mary Annette (ventriloquism and puppet experience are a plus but not required).
High Soprano, Broadway and country styles
Sister Mary Leo is a former professional dancer, always eager to display her talent, impressionable, entered the convent to become the first ballerina nun.
