The Musical Theatre Guild of Butler values inclusion and diverse representation in all its endeavors. Everyone is welcome both on stage and off. In that spirit, we warmly encourage you to schedule an audition or volunteer to participate in our production. If you are interested in contributing behind the scenes, please contact us at Auditions.MTG@gmail.com.
Please complete this form to schedule your audition — or indicate interest in the ensemble. If you would like to be in the ensemble, you do not need to audition! Simply complete the form and select “Ensemble” under the time options.
Participants auditioning should prepare a 32-bar vocal selection in the style of the show that best showcases your range and character. (Please — no “Les Mis” or “Oklahoma!” Think fun, ’70s-inspired energy!)
Bring printed music/tracks for your selection — an accompanist will be provided. A cold reading will also be part of the initial audition.
We will confirm audition appointments by Saturday, January 24. Video auditions may be submitted to Auditions.MTG@gmail.com until noon on Tuesday, January 27. Please include a vocal selection, experience, headshot, and schedule conflicts. If callbacks are needed, they will be held in-person on either Thursday, January 27 or Sunday, February 1. All performers will be notified with casting and first rehearsal information by Sunday, February 8.
Production dates are April 17, 18, 19, 24 & 25; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sunday at 3:00pm.
Rehearsals are dependent on cast and production staff availability.
Earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos and the unforgettable songs of the ’70s take center stage in Broadway’s side-splitting homage to classic disaster films.
Disaster! is a laugh-out-loud jukebox musical that spoofs the over-the-top disaster movies of the 1970s. Set aboard a floating casino in New York City, the plot spirals into chaos as earthquakes, tidal waves, and even killer bees strike—while characters sing iconic hits from the era like “Hot Stuff,” “I Will Survive,” and “Knock on Wood.” It’s campy, high-energy, and packed with big personalities, outrageous situations, and disco flair.
Audiences and critics are wild for this hilarious homage to the era of bell-bottoms, platform shoes and the hustle. With larger-than-life characters, snappy dialogue and some of the most recognizable songs of the ’70s, Disaster! will have your patrons dancing in their seats and rolling in the aisles.
